Having started out from a bedroom office and garden studio, Delightful Living is now ten years old and operating from a converted dairy farm with a small team.

Delightful Living, based in Derbyshire, makes bespoke personalised signs and gifts for the home and garden. Having started by hand-painting everything, they have been working with UV print technology since 2013. Embracing new technology in the form of a Mimaki UJF3042HG and Kebab, purchased from CMYUK, has enabled them to scale and grow their business while still retaining a handmade element to the finishing process.

Paul McGreevy, Managing Director and co-founder of Delightful Living, explains,We already had two UJF3042s which were coping well with the day-to-day grind and busy gifting periods (Christmas, Father’s day, Mother’s day etc.) when we would see our production demands increase significantly. We were looking to upgrade one of our machines so that we could experiment printing directly onto bigger objects. We also wanted to explore the options of the kebab on cylindrical objects. The biggest reason for wanting the Mimaki UJF3042HG was to expand our range, creativity and explore new techniques, whilst still being able to do the day-to-day print fulfillment.

The Mimaki is high quality and reliable and the team is now beginning to experiment with
new substrates and work with suppliers to develop new ideas and create new products.

Sue Hayward from CMYUK has been a major influence on our whole working experience within the print industry in the last five years and with her help and advice she has steered and guided us in the right direction.” continues McGreevy, “Sue set everything up and liaised with Hybrid so that installation went without a hitch. Martin Cole was then assigned as our service and training installation engineer and he was just brilliant; his calm and thorough approach enabled us to fully get to grips with the new machine’s capabilities and also to provide our first introduction to Rasterlink 6, which we use with the Kebab.”

The Mimaki UJF3042HD offered the company deeper head height and the eight inks meant their set-up could incorporate clear, white and primer. It gave a lot of new options for very little disruption.
