New Mimaki printers from CMYUK will further enhance the customer experience

Banner Box Print Solutions is more than ready for the next phase of its 25-year tenure. Through CMYUK it has upgraded its Mimaki print capabilities, invested in a CNC router and migrated to a new dedicated factory space.

These major changes reflect the Banner Box vision as it moves forward.  A key focus is to expand its hard signage solutions service – driven by the increasing demands of the company’s print and signage trade customers.

“Over the years we have established a reputation for Banner Box across all areas of signage and wide format digital print. We have a very experienced team specialising in rigid printing, and we have significantly invested in new equipment allowing us to offer an even better service,” says Director, Ryan Shelton.

Banner Box has long been a loyal and committed user of Mimaki equipment, upgrading its capability now to include the JFX200-2513 EX flatbed and UJV55-320 3.2m wide roll-to-roll printers.

“Our old machines were excellent quality but they were getting tired, running slow and we were working longer hours because of it. They had many miles on the clock so we needed to upgrade. We were also getting more enquiries for 3m wide banners, which is why we opted for the wider 3.2m roll printer,” says Ryan.

“The new Mimaki flatbed is just brilliant. It’s so fast. I’ve been printing 50mm thick scrap pieces of wood on it not for any other reason but to prove that it can print on anything at speed. Mimaki printers are easy to work with.  The print quality and the colours are fantastic.”

The new printers will allow the company to actively pursue opportunities in potential new market areas and will enable the company to fine-tune its service. “We’re just able to be more efficient, react quicker to last minute and urgent requests. We’ve always offered our customers an excellent service, but with these our latest Mimakis we can actually improve on what we’ve done before,” says Ryan.

Banner Box has successfully navigated itself through the Lockdowns, adapting to the demands of the Pandemic by outputting safety signage and PPE equipment at volume.  Not only has it retained all 15 staff, but it has grown its team and is quietly confident about future prospects.

“There’s no doubt it’s been stressful,” says Ryan, “but as we move through this year, our strategy is to continue to expand on what we currently offer, and service our customers even better than before.

“We’re very excited by all the eco products on offer like PVC-free Kavalan banner range but we’re also looking at green solutions for rigid closely too. We’re already seeing results of our plans and investments.”
